À propos
Vivian Roost is a French-Swiss neoclassical pianist and composer whose music captivates an international audience. His artistic world is deeply rooted in the contemporary solo piano tradition and evokes the emotional landscapes of artists such as Ólafur Arnalds, Ludovico Einaudi, Yann Tiersen, and Michael Nyman. Roost’s artistic signature lies in “simple yet deeply moving melodies, carried by rich harmonies.” Each piece is described as “a warm inner journey, an invitation to introspection, nostalgia, and serenity.” The composer’s approach is “highly visual: he composes as one would tell a story,” making his concerts “suspended moments, almost cinematic in nature.” From the Petit Palais to Polynesian landscapes For more than a decade, the artist has performed around the world, playing in prestigious venues such as the Louvre and the Petit Palais in Paris, as well as across Asia, notably in Tokyo, Singapore, and Bali. In 2025, he performed in Berlin and Amsterdam, and “recently for the first time in French Polynesia.” These Polynesian concerts were marked by exceptional staging set in the heart of nature. In Moorea, Vivian Roost notably performed in the middle of a pineapple field. Likewise, the beauty of the lagoon served as a stage, with Vivian’s piano placed on a barge. Vivian Roost’s influence extends beyond his live performances. His latest album, From Home, has seen remarkable growth, having “gathered more than 100 million streams worldwide.” This success was further strengthened by recognition from other leading figures of the neoclassical scene. The Franco-Swiss composer releases his work through renowned labels such as Pianoramix and Deutsche Grammophon. In addition to solo piano, he composes for theatre, documentary films, and songs, having notably “co-written for ZAZ, a highly successful artist in France.”
